　　這首《愛的心語》是由卡建特（Carpenters）演唱隊兄妹兩人中妹妹創作演唱的愛情歌曲。實際上這個兄妹演唱隊是由妹妹凱倫·卡蓬特，哥哥理查·卡蓬特和哥哥的同學吉·貝立斯（J·Bellis）為骨幹組成。早在1969年12月，兄妹倆曾運用身歷聲多軌重複錄音技術錄製了甲殼蟲樂隊的 一首歌《Ticket To Ride》，開始引起人們的注意。哥哥理查唱歌兼琴手，並製作和創作歌曲，由於妹妹凱倫的歌聲更受歡迎，理查甘願為妹妹當配角。實際上哥哥多才多藝， 即製作、創作、又演唱歌曲。對我國的廣大音樂愛者來說，似乎更容易接受妹妹凱倫，因為她動聽的歌喉、優美的曲調和旋律還有她不幸的早逝，都更能引起人們的 愛憐。

　　1994年，當卡蓬特演唱隊組建近25周年時，為了紀念兄妹樂隊，許多目前熱門前衛搖滾樂隊重新唱他們的著名作品，並出版專輯《如果我是卡蓬特》（If I Were Carpenters）。A＆M唱片公司也出版了他們的精選專輯《蒼翠》。
